Danny Glover was born 22 July 1947, in San Francisco, California, USA, to the film production assistant Mandisa Glover and Carrie Hunley Glover. A relative late-comer to acting, Danny Glover began to take an interest in the stage at age 28, with a few roles in local theater. Upon moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting as a career, Glover continued to find success. Danny first appeared on film Escape From Alcatraz (1979), he only had a tiny role, but was able to work his way into the forgettable Chu Chu and the Philly Flash (1981). In 1980, had a chance to take a role in the pilot of Hill Street Blues. Since he was already committed to a stage play, however, Glover declined his chance to break into television.
